Crochet

I seem to be obsessed with crochet again. I made a blanket for my sister a few years ago and then happily put my crochet hooks away and did not think much about them. I admired what others were making, but did not feel the urge to do anything else, but after starting a granny square scarf for Evie I have a large list of things I want to make. Starting with pretty much everything in this book. The ISBN is 978472680919. I bought it from Amazon Japan, but have also seen it here.
I think the one thing that put me off was the weight of the blanket. I used 8 ply wool and it is quite heavy (and a little expensive) so I am looking for alternatives. Something that is not so heavy, preferably not acrylic and has a good range of colours. Maybe Bendigo 8 ply cotton? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Blogger is being a bit weird and loading this sideways, but this blanket is my favourite pattern in there.

Platypus Explosion

There seems to have been an explosion in the platypus population around here.

Diamonds and Squares

I finally finished the quilt for my nephew Leo. I used 12 fat quarters of Modern Meadow and some background fabric. It is 45 x 60 inches. I love this range of fabric, I wish I had bought a little more. I have been using it for quilts and toys and most of my stash is nearly gone.

I have written the up the pattern and it includes the size above and 2 larger sizes - 60x 75 inches and 75 x 75 inches.
The pattern is now available here and here.

I made this with some more of the Modern Meadow using my Through the Square Window pattern.

Single Girl

My background for the Single Girl quilt arrived yesterday and luckily it is exactly what I wanted. It is Kona Cotton in Artichoke. The stacks on top will be the fabric for the rings. Hopefully now that I have posted about it I will get started on the next step.
I seem to be using my stash of Modern Meadow fabric a lot recently. I whipped up this bunny yesterday and I have a couple of quilts nearly finished.

The lovely Susie of Flower Press has interviewed me for her Show and Tell series. You can read it here. And go and have a look at her beautiful prints and teatowels. I love these shoes - I have them hanging on my wall.

Sherbet Pips

The quilting and binding on the Sherbet Pips cot quilt is finished. I have already told you how much I love this fabric range and things haven't changed. While sewing this quilt I planned a lot of projects using thie fabric.
This umbrella fabric by Riley Blake matched perfectly for the backing and binding.
Can be found in the shop.

Quilting

Lots of sewing going on here, but nothing finished or interesting to share. There are many piles of half finished toys and quilts. Hopefully there will be lovely pictures to share soon.

First Day of Year One

They looked happy before they left, but not so good when I left them in their class. It was a relief to find them looking like this again when I picked them up this afternoon.
