Good Etsy Finds

Etsy, like ravelry, is one of those sites where you go looking for something and emerge hours later having completely forgotten what you  were looking for in the first place.
I found this vintage ribbon on a recent search and knew it would be perfect for this dress from a Japanese sewing book (ISBN 978-4-579-11289-0).
My closest Spotlight and Textile Traders are 100km away and you are never sure of the buttons they will have in stock (though the buttons in Textile Traders were great on my last visit and cheap!). So it is much easier to search Etsy and saves me a drive to Bunbury. I got these ones from here.
I am hoping some of them will be perfect for this vest which is currently blocking on the verandah.
I am a little bit in love with the picot edging. I must knit more picot edges I think.

They are cute buttons. I often find it difficult to find nice buttons, so will keep Etsy in mind next time. I like picot edging too.

I think the ribbon will be perfect for the dress. I always have a hard time finding good buttons too, but yours look wonderful. I love the tree ones and the red spotty ones!

Those buttons are gorgeous. I have a weakness for good buttons, but so rarely find them.

It is all so gorgeous. What a beautiful dress and ribbon and buttons. I can't wait to see what the vest looks like when it is finished. Now I must find that book.

I love that dress pattern. I found a lovely example of it made up (if you haven't already seen it!) on Pinterest here: http://pinterest.com/pin/375206212675293079/

Trim and buttons are lovely too...

gorgeous buttons. I'll pop over and have a look. Spotlight always disappoints me - and when they do have something nice it usually costs a mint!
